Many of us have heard it said that we are what we eat. If we eat unhealthy food, we become unhealthy. When we eat fat, we become fat. Many of us have experienced the outcomes of unhealthy eating. In America alone, 35% of adult women are obese*.
This is one time that I’m not proud to be in the top 1/3 of a group. Why am I writing about this? I am currently doing the No Other Gods Bible Study by Kelly Minter. Today we read and discussed this scripture: Isaiah 44:9a All who make idols are nothing, and the things they treasure are worthless. It made me think about the physical principal, you are what you eat, and I wondered how this plays out in our spiritual lives. Perhaps spiritually we are what we worship. Now, this is not to say that if we worship God, we become God. But rather, if we worship a dead idol, we become spiritually dead. If we worship the living God, we become spiritually alive.
