Looking for a Good Book?

I just finished reading Where Do I Go? by Neta Jackson. She wrote the Yadda Yadda Prayer Group series. Where Do I Go? is a new series about Manna House, a homeless shelter for women, that was introduced in the Yadda Yadda Prayer series. Some of the same characters are in this Yadda Yadda House of Hope series.

Neta is a captivating author. Her stories pull you in and keep you reading. She’s the kind of author who’ll keep you up late into the night because you just have to see what’s going to happen next. Where Do I Go? tells the story of Gabrielle Fairbanks, who goes by Gabby. She and her husband move to Chicago so that he can start a new business. Gabby finds herself in a highrise penthouse alone. Her boys are off at boarding school and she misses them dearly. Through a run-in with a bag lady, Gabby ends up at Manna House. They have an opening for a program director and it seems the fit would be perfect for Gabby. It would give her something of value to do while she waits for her boys summer vacation when they will return home. But will they stay? What will her husband have to say about his wife working at a homeless shelter while he tries to make connections in high social circles? And what about God? Gabby had quit reading her Bible and praying years ago, but Manna House is a Christian ministry.

There is so much more I could tell you about the book, but I don’t want to give it away. I have a feeling this House of Hope series will also be a best seller. I read it in less than a week and can hardly wait to get to Borders to buy the second one, Who Do I Talk To?.
